Under “Family Planning Programme”, population stabilization fortnight will be celebrated in the district from July 11, 2021 to July 24, 2021, whose theme will be ‘Preparation for family planning in disasters, full responsibility of the capable nation and family’.
Giving information, Chief Medical Officer Pauri Dr. Manoj Sharma said that during the fortnight, under family planning, primary health centers in the identified medical units of the district, Sabdarkhal on July 12, 2021, CHC Pabon and PHC Motadak on July 15, PHC on July 17. Family welfare camps will be organized at Kot, 22nd July at CHC Ghandiyal and 24th July, 2021 at CHC Nainidada. During the camp, family welfare services will be provided through NSV and laparoscopy in the respective medical units. Apart from this, family welfare services will also be available through minilap, NSV and laparoscopy during the fortnight in District Hospital Pauri, Base Hospital Srikot, Joint Hospital Srinagar, Base Hospital Kotdwar.
He was informed that there are 65 thousand target couples who are expected to be benefitted in the district, who will be benefited by both permanent and temporary methods of family welfare. The objective of the program is to make people aware of the difference between two children, post-delivery operation, increase the participation of men in family planning services, increase the age of marriage, adopt family planning tools after abortion, as well as make the district aware during the fortnight. Outlets will be set up through the counselors posted in the medical units, through which information regarding family planning as well as condoms, oral pills etc. will be distributed to the beneficiaries.
