To fight the corona virus, there is no shortage of funds, the government is busy with this. In this episode, orders have been issued in connection with giving this amount to the Kovid-19 fund after deducting Rs 1 crore each from the MLA fund for two years. With this, the government will get a huge amount of 142 crores in two years. At the same time, along with the salary of minister-legislators, the government has also been issued a 30 per cent deduction for two years out of the five allowances they will get, which will deposit Rs 5 crore in the Kovid-19 fund.
The central government had recently decided to postpone the MP fund along with the cuts in salary and allowances of ministers-MPs. Following this, the state government also decided to take such an initiative here, which was approved in the cabinet meeting held on April 8. As per the cabinet decision, a mandate of Rs 1 crore has been issued from the MLA fund to the MLAs in the financial years 2020-21 and 2021-22. Government spokesperson and Cabinet Minister Madan Kaushik confirmed this.It is worth noting that the state legislators get 3.75 crore fund every year for development works. There are 70 elected and one nominated MLAs in the state. According to government spokesperson Kaushik, the government is fully prepared to tackle the corona virus. On the other hand, according to the decision taken in the cabinet meeting held on April 8, the mandate was issued to cut ministerial legislators two days in advance, as well as 30 percent reduction in two out of five allowances.Ministerial MLAs get Constituency Allowance, Secretarial Allowance, Public Service Allowance, Driver Allowance and Diesel-Petrol Allowance in addition to salary. The MLA gets Rs 2.91 lakhs per month including the salary and allowances and the ministers get Rs 3 to 3.5 lakhs. Along with the salary, 30 percent reduction in the constituency and secretarial allowance will reduce the amount of Rs 58 to 60 thousand per month. The deduction from April 1, 2020 to March 31, 2021 will go to the Kovid-19 fund.
