The second trading day of the week opened on Wednesday with the stock market rising. The Sensex gained 587 points and the Nifty also opened up 202 points. By the time the news was written, the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) Sensex was trading up 811.84 points and 2.65 percent higher at 31,501.86 and the National Stock Exchange’s Nifty was trading at 246.60 points and 2.74 percent at 9,240.45.
It is worth mentioning that the stock market was closed on Tuesday due to Baba Saheb Ambedkar Jayanti. A day earlier on Monday, the Sensex closed at 30,690.02 and the Nifty closed at 8,993.85.
