A 10-bed ICU center will now be built in Kotdwar Base Hospital for people suffering from corona virus infection. The Department of Health has mobilized for the construction of an ICU center to be built at a cost of Rs 49 lakhs through the National Health Mission (NHM). Soon the construction of ICU center equipped with modern life saving machines will start in the fourth floor of the base hospital.
The base hospital, which provides health services to about 80 percent of the population of Pauri district, is the main health center of the district. Due to the area being susceptible to corona infection, it is considered important to have modern machines to treat corona here. So far a young man was found corona positive in Kotdwar. After her treatment, her report has now come negative. Apart from this, 53 people have been kept in the Government Quarantine Center, of which 47 are Jamati. For the treatment of Corona, the administration has made Base Hospital, Ayurvedic Hospital and Isolation Ward at PHC Kalalghati and Convocated GMVN Guest House and Kaudia ADB Guest House Facilitated Quarantine Center. In addition, 21 other locations have been selected for the Facilitated Quarantine Center if needed. In view of this, the 10-bed ICU center in the base hospital has been approved by the Health Department.
In view of Corona infection, there is a plan to build a 10-bed ICU center at Kotdwar Base Hospital through NHM. Work will be started soon on this.
