The Uttarakhand government has given relief to the farmers due to the lockdown from the Corona epidemic. It has been decided to increase subsidy on advanced seeds by 25 percent. Now farmers will get 75 percent subsidy on seed purchase instead of 50 percent in the state.
At the same time, the increase in the rate of seeds by Terai Seed Development Corporation has been postponed for one year. On Wednesday, Agriculture and Horticulture Minister Subodh Uniyal reviewed the operation of agriculture and horticulture works during the lockdown at a meeting of departmental officers at his residence in Yamuna Colony. It was decided in the meeting that 50 percent subsidy on seeds to farmers will be increased to 75 percent.

This proposal has also been agreed by Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat. Apart from this, the decision to increase the limit of agricultural credit will be taken soon in the meeting of the State Level Bankers Committee. Certification of seeds of traditional crops was not recognized in the hilly regions of the state. The matter was continuously taken up with the Center on behalf of the state government. Now the Center has recognized the traditional seeds. Additional Chief Secretary Om Prakash, Secretary Agriculture and Horticulture R. Meenakshi Sundaram, Director Agriculture, Gaurishankar and officers of Agriculture, Horticulture, Silk Department were present.
The most damage to flowers and mushrooms
Due to the lockdown in the state, the maximum damage has been done to floriculture and mushroom production. To compensate the loss of farmers, a standard should be set and a proposal should be sent to the center soon.

Organic fertilizers will be supplied through cooperative association
Organic fertilizers will be supplied through cooperative association in 10 organic development blocks of the state. The Agriculture Minister directed the departmental officers to immediately send a proposal for supply to the secretary cooperative.

Farmers’ book and garden card should be considered as pass
In the lockdown, arrangements have been made for the farmers to issue passes through the District Magistrate for agricultural farming. In this, farmers are facing a lot of difficulties. The Agriculture Minister has instructed all the District Collectors that the Kisan Book and Garden Card be recognized as a pass.

Own market will be operated through self-help group
In order to provide markets to local farmers, consumer markets will be operated through self-help groups. Each and every market will be given a sum of Rs two lakh through Uttarakhand Seed Certification Agency. While development cess money will be given from Mandi Parishad for permanent construction work.
