Uttarakhand Shines with Five Medals in Day 1 of Taekwond at 38th National Games in Haldwani

The Taekwondo competition at the 38th National Games witnessed electrifying performances at Milam Hall, Manaskhand Khel Parisar, Haldwani. Athletes from across the country showcased their agility, strength, and technique in the highly competitive Kyorugi events, vying for top honors. The matches kept spectators on the edge of their seats as some of the best Taekwondo talents battled it out for supremacy.
The female Kyorugi events saw fierce contests, with Twisha Kakadiya from Gujarat securing the gold medal in the Under-46Kg category, while Uttarakhand’s Vishakha Sah clinched the silver. In the Under-57Kg category, Uttarakhand’s Pooja emerged victorious, claiming the gold, while Maharashtra’s Shivani Lala Bhilare settled for silver. Chandigarh’s Etisha Das dominated the Under-73Kg category, winning gold, followed by Telangana’s Payam Harshpradha with silver.
The male Kyorugi events were equally intense. SSCB’s Ankit Mer triumphed in the Under-54Kg category, while Naveen, also from SSCB, secured gold in the Under-68Kg division. The Under-87Kg category saw a power-packed final, with SSCB’s Shashank Singh Patel clinching the gold medal.
