The notification for the elections of the bodies is to be issued around November 10. The single-member dedicated commission had recently submitted the report of OBC reservation of urban bodies to Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami.

The rules have been prepared to implement OBC reservation in the urban bodies of the state. The rules have been sent to the Chief Minister for approval. After it is approved, the picture of OBC reservation in the bodies will become clear. The notification for the elections of the bodies is to be issued around November 10. The commission has also submitted a supplementary report of this. The government has accepted this report. Its rules have been prepared to implement the report in the bodies. The rules also include the formula for OBC seats in the bodies. This rule will come into force after getting approval from the CM.

After the rules are issued, it will be clear which posts will be reserved for OBCs in which municipal corporations, municipalities and municipal councils. Which posts will be reserved for General, SC, ST. At present, speculations are going on in many places.

Officials of the Urban Development Department say that the posts will be determined according to the formula that has been prepared. The situation regarding the post of Mayor of many corporations including Dehradun Municipal Corporation will become clear only after the rules are issued.

The notification for municipal elections will be issued in the state around November 10. Before this, the process of OBC reservation is going to start from the level of District Magistrates within the next one week. The State Election Commission has also started preparations.
