The plan to make Parade Ground and Gandhi Park a green area under the Dehradun Smart City Project, did not go to Urban Development Minister Banshidhar Bhagat. He protested that the closure of the busy traffic Subhash Road would severely affect the traffic system in the city. He ordered the CEO of Smart City to reconsider the plan. This issue was raised in the review meeting of the Urban Development Department held in the Vidhan Sabha on Friday.
In fact, under the Smart City project, there is a plan to make the entire area green after closing about 150 meters of Subhash Road passing between Gandhi Park and Parade Ground. That is, the scope of Gandhi Park will spread to the parade ground. The government has also passed a budget of Rs 20 crore 87 lakh for this scheme. Minister Banshidhar Bhagat looked worried about this plan.
He said that if people stop the road with such busy traffic, then where will the vehicles of the people go. On this, Smart City CEO Dr. Ashish Shrivastava said that the route of vehicles will be diverted. The minister did not appear satisfied with this.
He raised the question that the greenery of such a lush green parade ground has already been eradicated. Now by mixing it with Gandhi Park, the public can be in great trouble. The traffic system in the city can also be disrupted. He ordered that the plan to close Subhash Road under this project be reconsidered.
Paltan Bazaar’s road will be ready by April 30
In the meeting, the Minister spoke on the problems being faced by the traders of Paltan Bazar. On this, the CEO of Smart City, Dr. Ashish Shrivastava said that the road to Paltan Bazaar will be ready by April 30.

On completion of this plan, the parade ground will look like a green field. A bicycle track will be constructed here. Common people will have seating benches. Shops will be prepared for shopkeepers. Smart toilets will be made. Water ATMs will be installed. VIP stage to be constructed for public meetings.
Make as many roads as you can
Urban Development and Housing Minister Banshidhar Bhagat has expressed strong resentment over the carved roads of Doon amid the ongoing work under the Smart City. He has directed the CEO of Smart City, Dr. Ashish Shrivastava to construct as many roads as possible, so that the public does not face any problem.
On Friday, Minister Banshidhar Bhagat reviewed the smart city project at a review meeting of the Urban Development Department held in Room 120 of the Legislative Assembly. He also inquired about the work to be done under this project and the period for its completion. Smart City CEO Dr. Ashish Srivastava said that the work of the Smart City project is going on fast, but even at such a speed, at least one and a half years are needed.
So far, about seven months have been completed. During the review, Minister Banshidhar Bhagat was upset with the carved roads and the problems being faced by the people. He told the Smart City CEO that roads have been carved in different places in the city. Chaos is happening. Therefore, if you are digging a one-kilometer road for the works of the smart city, then make that road first before completing that work. So that the public is not disturbed.
