The exercise to implement the new education policy has started in the state. A meeting of the core committee members was held in the auditorium of the Directorate Academic Research and Training on Saturday under the chairmanship of Education Minister Arvind Pandey. In the meeting, the committee members suggested that TET should be made mandatory for appointment to the post of lecturer.

It was said in the meeting that only those candidates who have passed TET should be eligible for the posts of lecturers. TET is compulsory for the posts of primary and assistant teacher LT so far in the education department. If this suggestion is implemented, making TET mandatory for appointment to the post of lecturer will add another standard to its selection.

In the meeting, members suggested to develop a teacher training model before developing the curriculum of the new education policy. At the same time there was a suggestion about the subject election that the choice of the subject should be made in such a way that the students do not have difficulty in the subject election. Whereas the culture and knowledge of the state should also be included under vocational education.

In view of the importance of sports, institutes dedicated to it should be developed. Government orders to implement ECCE (Early Childhood Care and Education) be issued. Teachers of government and aided schools should be selected from TET examination.

Education Minister Arvind Pandey said that teachers should be trained before curriculum development so that Indian culture and knowledge can be presented in a fair way. Director General of Education Vinay Shankar Pandey said that educational quality has been given more importance in the new education policy. A certain percentage of promotion and other benefits of teachers and principals should be a qualifying examination.

The new education policy will be implemented in a phased manner. Director Academic Research and Training Seema Jaunsari, CBSE Regional Director Dr. Ranveer Singh, Additional Director Mahavir Singh Bisht, Shiv Prasad Khali, Ajay Nodiyal, Shashi Bala Chaudhary, Kuldeep Garola, Dr. Mohan Singh Bisht, etc. were present in the meeting.
