Uttarakhand Regional Passport Office launches facility at seven service centers
It will no longer be mandatory for passport applicants to carry original documents for verification at the time of biometric examination. They will be able to upload the required documents in the Digi Locker account and link it to the authorized website of Passport India to get biometric verification.
Uttarakhand Regional Passport Office has also started this optional facility at one Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) and six Post Office Passport Seva Kendras (POPSK) in the state.
To check the required documents from Digi Locker, one has to login on Passport India official website www.passportindia.gov.in. Generally, it has to be done in the same way as online application for passport. To check the documents only through Digi Locker, the option given in the website has to be clicked.
After that the applicant has the facility to link his Digi Locker account with the online application on the website. Regional passport officer Deepak Joshi said that the optional facility of document verification with Digi Locker has also been started.

Many times, school age and other certificates of students are deposited in institute etc. In such a situation, he had difficulty in bringing the original documents on time. Many people forget to bring the original documents at the time of appointment. Not only this, there is no need for correspondence with the concerned state or board regarding the recognition of the Board of Education.
Because Digi Locker will contain only those documents which will be recognized. He said that for the proof of personal ID, date of birth and address in the Digi locker, upload the necessary documents like Aadhar card, Voter card, Driving license and PAN card. Apart from this, there will be a facility to show original documents on the spot. When applying for this, the option has to be filled.
How to create a Digi Locker Account
State Coordinator of Common Service Center Lalit Bora said that to create a Digi Locker account, login on the official government website www.digilocker.gov.in. OTP will come on the mobile linked to the relevant document. After this, according to the instructions mentioned, create a Digi Locker account.
