Koshiyari new Governor of Maharashtra

Former Uttarakhand Chief Minister Bhagat Singh Koshyari has been appointed as the new Governor of Maharashtra.

Significantly, the tenure of Maharashtra’s C. Vidyasagar Rao has ended.

Former Chief Minister of Uttarakhand and former MP Bhagat Singh was born on 17 June 1942 and has also been the National Vice President of the Bharatiya Janata Party.

He was the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand from 2001 to 2002 and also held the post of Leader of Opposition during the tenure of Congress from 2002 to 2007.

Bhagat Singh Koshyari, a Rajya Sabha MP from 2008 to 2014, also had to travel to jail during the Emergency.
