In India, about 40-90 million people are disabled due to some reason or the other. The Rights of Persons with Disabilities (RPwD) Act, 2016 lists 21 types of disabilities, which include intellectual disability, visual impairment, hearing impairment, mobility impairment, speech problems, cerebral palsy and dwarfism. All these conditions can affect the quality of life.
The non-profit organization (NGO) ‘Latika’ is continuously working to empower such people and make the life of the disabled easier. Recently, Latika has partnered with HAB Pharmaceuticals to provide better facilities for the disabled.
