The administration has started tightening in view of the rising infectivity in the second wave of Corona in other cities including the capital of Uttarakhand. After imposing Kovid curfew in the cities of Dehradun, Roorkee, Haridwar, Kotdwar, etc., the administration has now imposed Kovid curfew in Doiwala, Hubertpur, Vikasnagar and Mussoorie municipal areas in Dehradun district. The curfew order has been implemented in these areas with immediate effect. Kovid curfew has been imposed in Dehradun district area and Rishikesh municipality area in Dehradun district till 5 pm on Monday morning at 7 pm.
Corona patients are increasingly being found in the areas as well as other municipal bodies of the district. In view of this, District Magistrate Dr. Ashish Kumar Srivastava has also installed Kovid curfew in Municipality Doiwala, Hubertpur, Vikasnagar and Mussoorie area. DM told that Kovid curfew will be applicable in these civic bodies like Dehradun and Rishikesh Nagar area till 5 am on Monday morning. He informed that from Thursday morning the order will be implemented in these areas with immediate effect. It said that violation of this would take action under the epidemic act.
To prevent corona infection, District Magistrate Dehradun Dr. Ashish Kumar Srivastava has issued a new order regarding Corona curfew. The District Magistrate, in his order, has now ordered the curfew to be implemented from Thursday to May 3 in Herbertpur and Vikasnagar area along with Rishikesh Dehradun. In Herbertpur and Vikasnagar, now only essential commodities, fruits, vegetables, bakery, dairy, meat-fish, ration, government cheap slum, cattle feed and egg shops will be open till two o’clock in the afternoon. All other shops will remain closed. Essential services like medical stores etc. have been exempted. The corona curfew will continue from seven in the evening to five in the morning.
In view of the increasing cases of corona infection in the Pachuvadoon area, the District Magistrate has issued new orders regarding curfew. In which curfew has also been imposed in Vikasnagar and Herbertpur municipality area from 29 April to Thursday 3 May. In these two markets, fruit, vegetable, bakery, dairy, meat-fish, rations, government-owned cheap Galla, cattle feed and egg shops will be open till two o’clock in the day.
Apart from emergency services like medical stores etc., no other shops will be opened in these two municipality areas. There will be curfew in the two municipal areas till five in the morning till seven in the evening. The Collector has appealed to all the people to remain in their homes during the curfew. Do not violate the curfew. Otherwise legal action will be taken. Said that everyone should cooperate with the administration to break the corona chain. Get out of the houses only by urgent work. Otherwise stay in homes.
Damage to tourism business in Mussoorie, Pachhwadoon, Chakrata
Due to Corona, tourism business in tourist places including Masur, Chakrata has collapsed. Booking at hotels in Mussoorie, Pachhwadoon and tourist town Chakrata has been canceled. Before the Corona transition, these days hotels were up to 60 per cent booked. This has caused a loss of lakhs of rupees to every hotel businessman. There are close to 200 hotels in Vikasnagar, Bardwala, Juddo, Chakrata, Lokhandi, Koruva and surrounding areas. Apart from this, their number is up to four hundred, including guest house, home stay, break fast and lunch service. They provide employment to thousands of people.
Cancellation of all bookings in hotels
Anupam Tomar, secretary of the hotel association Chakrata, says that 100% of bookings in hotels have been canceled. Prior to Corona, about sixty percent of bookings were done in the month of April. This time the season is already over before it starts. Tourists are not coming from other states due to Corona infection. Due to this, all bookings in hotels have been canceled. He told that in this season itself, Chakrata and the nearby hoteliers have lost up to two crores.
Locks may have to be called at hotels and restaurants
Hotel businessmen of Vikasnagar Nitesh Arora, Vishal Dubey, Shubham Jain said that there was hope that there will be a good season due to reduced corona transition from December, but it is already over. All bookings in hotels are canceled. In these circumstances, lock has to be done. The business has collapsed due to the virus.
