Kalagarh (Kotdwar). Patrol teams have found two dead bodies of tiger cubs in Kalagarh range of Corbett Tiger Reserve. The organs of the cubs have been sent to the Indian Wildlife Institute in Dehradun for DNA testing.

The rotten bodies of two tiger cubs were seen in Magazine Sot near Sandil Dam Tirahe located in compartment number one of Lakadghat of Kalagarh range of Corbett Tiger Reserve. Patrol teams informed the senior officials of the department about this. On which Dr. Saket Badola, Director of Corbett Tiger Reserve, reached the spot and instructed to do intensive combing in the area. At the same time, the skin of the cubs had rotted, but their nails, teeth and bones were found safe.A panel of veterinarians Rajiv Kumar and Himanshu Pandey dissected the carcasses and disposed them as per the guidelines of the National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA). The gender of the carcasses could not be ascertained as they had decayed. During this, Deputy Director of Corbett Tiger Reserve Rahul Mishra, Deputy Divisional Forest Officer Binderpal, AG Ansari of Tiger Conservation Foundation for Corbett Tiger Reserve, Faijan Ansari of WWF, Forest Officer Manish Kumar, NGO member Virendra Agarwal and local forest workers were present.
