On Saturday, checks of financial assistance of five lakh rupees each were presented by the state government to the families of two journalists who became the losers of the panedemic covid 19 period. District Magistrate Dhiraj Garbyal distributed checks of five lakh rupees each to Kiran Dixit, wife of recognized journalist Late Prashant Dixit and Basanti Arya, wife of another journalist Late Harish Arya, in his camp office. It is noteworthy that Prashant Dixit died during treatment due to infection of covid-19 and Harish Arya died during the coverage of news.
The journalists present on the occasion remembered both the departed journalists and paid tribute to them by observing a silence of two minutes, remembering the contribution made by them in the field of journalism. During this, along with the journalists, the relatives of the deceased journalists expressed their gratitude for the contribution made by the information department and administration and the city unit of the journalist organization-National Union of Journalists-India. On this occasion Deputy Director Information Yogesh Mishra, Additional District Information Officer Nadeem Ahmed, Senior Journalists Dr. Girish Ranjan Tiwari, Kishore Joshi, Afzal Fauji, Dr. Naveen Joshi, Madhav Paliwal, Raju Pandey, Gunjan Mehra, Akanksha Madvi and Santosh Bora etc. journalists were also present.
