Nikita Chand of Badalu village in Pithoragarh district of Uttarakhand has brought laurels to the state by winning gold medal in the Asian Junior Boxing competition. There is an atmosphere of happiness in Badalu village after winning the gold medal.

Nikita Chand, who won the gold medal in the 60 kg weight category in the boxing competition, also won the gold medal in the national boxing competition held in Sonipat, Haryana. From there Nikita was selected for the Asian Boxing Competition to be held in Dubai. Nikita has brought laurels to the country and the state by winning the gold medal in the competition which started in Dubai at 8 pm on Sunday night.

Nikita’s father Suresh Chand is a farmer and mother Deepa Chand is a housewife. Nikita is currently taking education from PNF Public School, Pithoragarh. After winning the gold medal in the national competition held in Sonipat, the state government also gave a prize of eight thousand rupees to Nikita. On August 15, District Magistrate Dr. Ashish Chauhan presented this award to Nikita’s father at Dev Singh Ground.

Nikita has been trained by boxing coach Bijendra Malla. On this achievement of Nikita, cabinet minister Bishan Singh Chufal, former assembly candidate Pradeep Pal, village head Diwakar Joshi, former head Naveen Joshi, Anil Chand, Harish Joshi, Santosh Chand etc. have congratulated.
