Uttarakhand Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat has announced a reversal of a major decision of his predecessor Trivendra Singh Rawat. CM has said that 51 major temples including Kedarnath, Badrinath will be freed from government control. Welcoming this, Subramanian Swamy said that this is the reason why BJP’s future is better than other parties.

BJP MP Subramanian Swamy has welcomed the announcement of Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat to make 51 temples in Uttarakhand free from government control. Swamy, who raised the voice to get the temples out of government control, tweeted that this is the reason why BJP’s future is brighter than other parties. However, they also wrote that things have changed in the party after Amit Shah became BJP President (now JP Nadda is BJP President).

In fact, a Twitter user credited Subramanian Swamy for the declaration of 51 temples in Uttarakhand to be freed from the control of the government and wrote that the state government has rectified its mistake. Replying to the same tweet, Swamy wrote, “This is why BJP’s future is better than other parties.” I will openly criticize the party only when it deviates from the established policy. We could talk in forums when Gadkari and Rajnath were presidents. But things have changed after Amit Shah became president. Presently, JP Nadda is the President of BJP.

Chief Minister of Uttarakhand Tirath Singh Rawat made a big announcement on Friday, saying that his government will review the decision to constitute the Chardham Devasthanam Board. Announcing the reversal of the decision of his predecessor Trivendra Singh Rawat, he said that 51 major temples would be taken out of the control of the government. These temples also include major temples like Badrinath, Kedarnath, Yamunotri and Gangotri which are known as Chardham.

Subramanian Swamy has also approached the Supreme Court to free the temples from government control. In July last year, he moved the Supreme Court against the formation of Chardham Devasthanam Management Board. Earlier in July 2020, the Uttarakhand High Court had stamped the constitutional validity of the Trivandra Singh Rawat government’s decision to set up the Devasthanam Board. Many Hindu organizations had launched a ‘free temple’ campaign against the government control over the temples through the Devasthanam Board. There was also an increase in anger among the Hindu organizations against the then Trivendra Singh Rawat government.
