The Supreme Court has recognized prostitution as a profession. This is the first time that such an order has been given by the country’s top court regarding prostitution. The court clearly said that the police cannot take any action against the sex workers and their clients who do this work with consent. Sex workers are also entitled to respect and equality before the law.
