Recently, the Government of Uttar Pradesh, in view of the specificity of the work of accredited journalists at the state level/district level in the state, due to their health risks, they and their dependent family members should be given treatment in government hospitals besides nearby private hospitals. OfFor this purpose, it has been decided to provide medical facilities by including it under ‘Chief Minister Jan Arogya Yojana’. Instructions have been issued by the government in this regard.
Journalists’ Council of India (Regd.), a body of journalistsNational President of Anurag Saxena said that the journalist is a strong link between the government and the society. Unrecognized journalists also carry out their work with full integrity and honesty. Then why are they ignored?
Today, cases of indecency, assault and false cases are being registered against journalists for constantly facing the truth in the country. It is said that action will be taken by the government for misbehaving with journalists, but due to no action, the spirits of the oppressed are getting louder and the indifferent attitude of the governments on this is worrying.
For a healthy democracy, it is necessary that journalists carry out their work impartially and fearlessly. Journalists’ organizations have been demanding a journalist protection law for a long time, but the government is not paying attention to it. Recently, there are assembly elections in five states, but till now no party has made any announcement for journalists. All the parties always want cooperation from the media but do not take concrete steps to solve the problems of the media personnel
