Wildlife smugglers have also become active in the forests due to the lockdown in Chamoli, Uttarakhand. Once again, the team of Kedarnath Wildlife Division arrested two people coming from the forest in fear of being involved in wildlife trafficking, while one escaped on the spot. A gun, seven snare, flashlight and other belongings were recovered from the accused. Both were arrested under the Indian Wildlife Act.
On April 3 from the Wildlife Division, three people coming from the forest with weapons were arrested. Considering the protection of wildlife, these days range officers are forming teams and patrolling the forest area. On Thursday, forest officials received information that some people had gone hunting in the reserve forest area of ​​Mandal Beet. A six-member team led by Forest Officer Aarti Maithani reached the forest area.

When the team met some people at Unatoli Tok at around eight o’clock, they questioned one person and escaped as soon as they got a chance, while both Sohan Lal and Mahendra Singh’s village-Koteshwar, Chamoli were caught by the police. DFO of the division Amit Kanwar said that gun, seven traps, flashlight and other belongings were recovered from both the people. Both are being questioned about going to the forest.
