In Doiwala block of the district, there has been panic among the officers and employees of the department after the scam of more than 30 lakh rupees in Majri, Bhaniyawala, Multipurpose Cooperative Society (MPAX) came to light. Calling it a fraud with the farmers, the Congress party has demanded a SIT probe from the government in the matter. Here, the departmental minister says that he has already ordered an inquiry into the special audit of all 670 PACS committees.
In order to double the income of farmers, the government has started Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Sahakarita Kisan Kalyan Yojana in the state. Under this, farmers are given interest free loans up to one lakh, three lakh and farmer groups up to five lakh rupees. But some officers and employees of the department are bent on sabotaging such schemes.
Recently, Secretary Cooperative Dr.BVRC Purushottam inspected the Multipurpose Cooperative Societies (MPax) at the Nyaya Panchayat level, and a scam of Rs 30 lakh came to light in the investigation of only 16-17 accounts of one society. In such a situation, it is being estimated that if all the accounts of all the committees of the state are investigated, then this scam can be worth crores of rupees.
Former State Congress President and MLA Pritam Singh said that on one hand the government talks about doubling the income of farmers, while on the other hand the rights of farmers are being robbed. He said that every time a new scam comes to the fore in the cooperative, the government talks about investigation every time, but nothing comes out in these investigations. So there should be an SIT probe into this matter. Party’s senior vice president Suryakant Dhasmana and media in-charge Rajiv Mehrishi have also demanded a SIT probe from the government in this matter.
Minister admitted, more such cases can come now
Cooperative Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat said that till now all the work in cooperative societies was done by hand, but now computerization of PACS societies is being done across the state. He has admitted that many more such cases can come to the fore.
The minister said that he has directed the departmental secretary to conduct intensive inspection of committees in all the districts from the officers of the deputy registrar level. So that where such discrepancies are occurring, they can be brought to the fore. As far as the matter of SIT investigation in this matter is concerned, they have already ordered a special audit to be conducted.
