Kotdwar 8 July| On celebration of Azadi ka amritutsav , the Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of India has started the Hariyali Saptah Mahotsav across the country from today. Speaking on the occasion, the Speaker said that “Hariyali Mahotsav” is being organized in the spirit of “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” to create awareness about the importance of trees in not only sustaining the lives of the present generation but also in securing the future of the generations to come. To be born. He said that trees play an important role in reducing the adverse effects of climate change. This festival has great importance as a complement to the initiatives related to the policies and programs of the government towards environmental protection. The Speaker said that our drinking water, food items and the environment around us get contaminated due to modern lifestyle and use of chemical medicines etc. Along with this, people were inspired and aware about tree plantationto be done.He said that there is a need to give importance to traditional trees like Peepal, Banyan, and other medicinal trees under the tree plantation programme. These trees contribute to the protection and conservation of nature.
