In Dugadda block, after the voting for the vacant posts of heads in three gram sabhas held on June 27, the counting of votes took place on Wednesday at the block headquarters, Sahaysain. Shalini in Umathgaon, Rinki in Dartha and Rajni in Hanumanti became the head. Returning Officer MP Bhatt distributed the certificates to the winning candidates and announced their election.
Voting was held on June 27 for the vacant posts of village head in Umathgaon, Hanumanti Saruda and Dartha Gram Panchayats under Dugadda block. Counting of votes began at 8:00 am on Wednesday amid tight security. During this, the counting of votes of Gram Panchayat Umathgaon started first. Here Shalini was elected village head. He got the maximum of 146 votes. In Gram Panchayat Dartha, 212 votes were cast against a total of 318 voters. Here Rinki was elected village head. He secured the maximum of 133 votes. In the Gram Panchayat Hanumanti Saruda, 194 votes were cast against 257 voters. The winning candidate Rajni Devi got 78 votes. Returning Officer BDO MP Bhatt distributed certificates to the winning candidates. Told that out of 68 posts of ward members in various gram panchayats, 12 posts were elected unopposed. Remaining posts are still lying vacant. Counting supervisor Narendra Kumar, assistant Ankit Kumar, Mahavir Singh, block chief Ruchi Kantura, ABDO Yogendra Singh Negi, ADO Panchayat Jyotish Chandola and chief assistant Umesh Kandwal were present on this occasion.
