On the occasion of National Press Day, a seminar organized under the aegis of Kotdwar Press Club raised concern over the decline in the level of journalism. It also emphasized the need to take concrete steps to improve it.
Speakers at the seminar held at Ambience Hotel said that National Press Day is a day to understand their responsibilities as journalists. There was a time when the journalist through his writing gave rise to big movements in the social interest and the society considered the journalist as the fourth pillar of democracy, but today the situation is constantly changing. Professionalism has come to dominate journalism, due to which the level of journalism is continuously declining. The trend of sending fake news on social media has increased for personal benefits, which is directly impacting the society and the image of the journalist is being tarnished in the society. In unison, following the principles of journalism, he insisted on maintaining the original form of journalism. At the same time, it has been said to warn the governments through its writing on the difficult problems of society, so that the problems that are becoming difficult for human life can be resolved in time.
The future strategy of Kotdwar Press Club was also discussed during the seminar. The seminar was held under the chairmanship of Chairman Raj Gaurav Nautiyal, Vice President Ashish Balodhi, Secretary Ajay Khantwal, Co-Secretary Vimal Dhyani, Treasurer Anupam Bhardwaj, Former Chairman Sudhindra Negi, Former Secretary Chandresh Lakhera, Chandramohan Shukla, Naresh Thapliyal, Sharafat Ali, Ganesh Kala, Ranveer Singh , Pushpal Singh, Pankaj Pasbola, Rajan Garg, Nitin Aggarwal, Narendra Singh Negi, Vivek Baniyal, Dineshpal Singh, Nikhil Chauhan,  Vind Dudapudi  and Many journalists were present .
