Champawat-Tanakpur National Highway No-9 opened for traffic on Saturday evening on the fourth day. This route is called the lifeline of Champawat district. This life line was at a standstill since Wednesday. Due to this, more than 80 heavy vehicles were stranded on the way.
This road was closed due to heavy debris falling from the hill in the road between Dhon and Swanla in the early hours of Tuesday. Since Wednesday morning, the team of Shivalaya Company, which is constructing NH and All Weather Road, was busy in clearing the road by removing debris. At around four o’clock Saturday evening, the road could be made ready for a vehicle. With this, the movement of vehicles started slowly.
