Speaking on the occasion Shri Gadkari informed that FASTag initiative rolled out on 15<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0of December, 2019,\u00a0 has picked up in a big way as more than 1 crore\u00a0 FASTags\u00a0 have been issued as on date. The transactions per day have crossed 2 million with over Rs. 80 crore \u00a0collection happening through the digital mode. He added that the TV awareness campaign featuring Shri Akay Kumar will give it a further fillip.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/164.100.117.97\/WriteReadData\/userfiles\/image\/image001A9NG.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Minister called upon remaining vehicle users to switch over to FASTags as quickly as possible.\u00a0 He added that issues arising in the course of transition from manual toll\u00a0 collection to digital mode are also being attended to on priority.<\/p>\n<p>Shri Akshay Kumar expressed his happiness\u00a0 that he could associate himself\u00a0 with this campaign which will help in better traffic movement. He added that FASTag initiative puts India at par with global best practices\u00a0 in providing hassle free movement at the Toll Plazas.\u00a0 Shri Gadkari\u00a0 thanked the bollywood\u00a0 star Shri Akshay Kumar for his continued contribution to the cause of improned road travel experience in India.<\/p>\n<p>The Minister of State for Road Transport &amp; Highways General (Retd.)\u00a0 Dr. V.K. Singh\u00a0 said that enormous amount of efforts have been made to make the FASTag work.\u00a0 He added that digital transaction at Toll Plazas\u00a0 have gone up substantially and are also resulting in higher collection.
