The Nizamabad Agriculture Market yard was selected for the national level award for the effective implementation of reforms for strengthening the electronic National Agriculture Market (eNAM). District Collector received the award from the Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi at a function held in connection with the Civil Services Day celebrations in New Delhi on April 21, 2017.<\/p>\n

\nGFPCL at Modasa in Gujarat helps farmers realise higher prices through eNAM
\nGirimala Farmers Producer Company Ltd. (GFPCL) is formed to serve small & marginal
\nfarmers in villages around Modasa, Gujarat. Currently the company is working in 26 villages
\nwith 980 members of Meghraj and Malpurblocks of Aravali district. Company’s primary
\nobjective is to increase income and employment of member farmers through strengthening
\ntheir present livelihood.
\nBefore eNAM, members of GFPCL used to sell in the local markets of Meghraj, Modasa &
\nBhiloda. Due to unavailability of proper market, multihandling and various intermediaries
\nthe price realisation was less compared with the mandis. Trade cartels at mandis
\ndiscouraged FPC members to take their produce to the mandi. They came to know about
\neNAM when their representatives attended FPO onboarding meeting at Gandhinagar
\norganised by SFAC & GSAMB in May 2018.
\nWhen members of FPC understood the benefits of eNAM, GFPCL started selling through
\neNAM platform. After using eNAM they realised that, their produce is fetching more price
\ncompared to local markets. GFPCL realised
\nRs 200 per quintal higher for Maize
\ncommodity at Modasa eNAM mandi after
\ndeducting handling expenses of around Rs
\n55 a quintal. (GFPCL sold 32 quintals of
\nMaize at Modasa eNAM at Rs 2088 per
\nquintal compared with market price of Rs
\n1780).<\/p>\n
Mukesh Kalal, GFPCL officer, shared that
\nthey were very happy with the transparent
\nsystem followed in eNAM mandi & satisfied
\nwith the quick payment post sale of their
\nproduce<\/p>\n

It serves 3000 farmers from 29 villages in Seoni. eNAM mandi professional Shri Manoj Patle at Seoni attended Kisan Sammelan of MPFSRPCL to create awareness about eNAM & it\u2019s benefits to farmers. The interaction developed interest amongst the MPFSRPCL members and they requested their officials to learn more about eNAM.<\/p>\n

\ndetailed discussions
\nregarding operating process,
\nquality assessment,
\ntransparent weighment and
\npayments, he got keen to use
\neNAM for selling maize produced by their members. He discussed with their members
\nthat by selling through eNAM, they will realise competitive prices in better transparent
\nway and payment will be credited in their Producer Company account online. This made
\nthe farmers happy that as compared to sale at village level, they would earn Rs 70-150
\nper quintal higher through eNAM mandi portal at Seoni.
\nMPFSRPCL aggregated
\nmaize from their members,
\nprovided logistics & other
\nhandling support to bring
\nproduce to eNAM mandi for
\nselling produce online
\nthrough eNAM in a
\ntransparent way. Initially,
\nthey sold smaller quantities
\non eNAM for process familiarity<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
\u201cFarmers are very happy with the transparent
\nsystem. Due to eNAM, small & marginal farmers
\nare realising Rs 70 to 150 per quintal more.
\nMPFSRPCL\u2019s members are glad now as their
\ncompany is able to serve its large member base due
\nto eNAM because payment is quickly credited into
\ntheir Producer Company account and they are no
\nlonger dependent on intermediaries,\u201d said

\nable to provide Rs 70 to Rs 150 a quintal extra to
\nfarmers. Earlier farmers were not able to get and

\ntransportation, hamali, weight cutting, price
