Mumbai, 13 March 2025<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n WAVES 2025<\/strong> will spotlight exceptional global animation talent, as 78 creators advance to the second round<\/strong> of the Animation Filmmakers Competition<\/strong> (AFC)<\/a>. Ministry of Information & Broadcasting (MIB) in <\/strong>collaboration with Dancing Atoms<\/strong> organised the competition which is a key component of the Create in India Challenge Season-1<\/a>. It covers five categories: Animation<\/strong>, AR <\/strong>(Augmented Reality), VR <\/strong>(Virtual Reality), Virtual Production<\/strong>, and Visual Effects<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n An esteemed jury panel of global industry leaders evaluated the film projects based on criteria including originality, narrative strength, entertainment value, market appeal, audience engagement, and technical execution. Jury Panel Members include: Jan Nagel<\/strong>, Entertainment Marketing Professional; Dan Sarto<\/strong>, Chief Editor & Founder of Animation World Network<\/strong>; Director, Producer, Writer Gianmarco Serra<\/strong>; acclaimed writer Indu Ramchandani<\/strong>,; and award-winning filmmaker, Vaibhav Piwlatkar<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The selected creators represent a diverse mix of students<\/strong>, amateurs<\/strong>, professionals<\/strong>, and studios<\/strong>. Additionally, the competition features international entries from London<\/strong>, Bali<\/strong>, and Canada<\/strong>, providing a global perspective on storytelling. Notably, three special mention film projects<\/strong> have earned recognition for their compelling narratives on health<\/strong> and family education<\/strong>. Final submissions of the refined pitch decks from the selected entries will be completed by 20th<\/sup> March 2025, followed by a jury review by a newly appointed panel of industry experts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The top three winning projects<\/strong> will receive a cash prize of up to \u20b95 Lakh<\/strong> (total). As part of this initiative, the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting will invite the top creators on an exclusive trip to Mumbai, where they will present their projects to producers, OTT platforms, distributors, and investors from across the globe.
