The tunes of the attractive bands of ITBP, IMA, PAC, and Home Guard will be heard in the Vasantotsav.This year, Vasantotsav will be organized in Raj Bhavan between 7th and 9th March. This decision was taken in a meeting held in Raj Bhavan on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Governor Lieutenant General Gurmit Singh (retd). The Governor said that maximum participation of people should be ensured in this event.Its publicity should be expanded so that the flower producers and women self-help groups of the state can benefit from it. He stressed on the need to promote flower production through Vasantotsav as well as promote aromatic plants of Uttarakhand. The Governor directed that in order to link the flower exhibition with commercial activities, possibilities of marketing the flowers here should be explored not only in the state but across the country. He said that a food court should be arranged in the event with the cooperation of IHM and GMVN.In the food court, priority should be given to traditional millet based dishes. He said that honey production will also be encouraged through Vasantotsav. For this, he directed GB Pant Agricultural University to set up special stalls.
