The Regulatory Commission has sought a reply on the claims of increase in electricity rates. New electricity rates are to be implemented from April 1.The Regulatory Commission has sought a reply from UPCL on several points of the new proposal for increase in electricity rates in the state. For this, UPCL has been given time till January 6. In fact, UPCL had sent a petition to the Regulatory Commission on December 26 for increase in electricity rates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After studying this, the commission officials have raised objections on many points of UPCL. The basis of the factors cited for the increase in rates has also been asked. A senior official of the commission said, a letter has been sent to UPCL for point-wise information.New electricity rates are to be implemented from April 1. UPCL has to give its reply by January 6. It will also have to tell that 12 percent has been kept in different heads for recovery of the old financial year, on which information needs to be given with proof and facts.After receiving the reply from UPCL, the commission will file this petition. A public hearing will be held on this. Only after this the commission will decide on the rates. The new electricity rates are to be implemented from April 1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
