Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat inaugurated the Solar Lantern developed by the Uttarakhand Residential University Almora at CM Residence on Saturday. He appreciated the efforts of Uttarakhand Residential University and said that the alternative energy has become a need in present time. Efforts should also be made to make solar lights more useful in rural and hill areas. He said that such efforts also help in saving energy. Vice Chancellor of Uttarakhand Residential University Mr. H.S.Dhami said that this solar lantern is being made with support of RI Innovation Company, in which polymer has been used. He said that the battery of this solar lantern gives light upto 13 hours. The warranty of this solar lantern is 15 years. On this occasion, the Union Minister of State Mr. Ajay Tamta, Minister of State for Higher Education Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat, MLA Harbans Kapoor and Vinod Kandari, Dr. R.P.Joshi of RI Innovation Company etc. were present.<\/p>\n
