The India Meteorological Department said, rainfall has been more than normal in the south peninsula, central India, and east and northeast India divisions. But the northwest India division, which covers Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Delhi and Rajasthan, has recorded a 19 per cent deficiency.<\/p>\n<p>IMD has predicted fairly widespread rainfall in northwest India during the next three days. Isolated extremely heavy downpours are also very likely over Assam and Meghalaya during the next three days and over Bihar during the next 24 hours.<\/p>\n<p>With the national capital Delhi receiving heavy rains yesterday, the overall precipitation in the city in this month is now in the surplus category &#8212; eight per cent more than normal.<\/p>\n<p>In Uttar Pradesh, light to moderate rains accompanied with thunderstorm occurred at a few places yesterday. Weather office has forecast heavy to very heavy rain at isolated places over the state today.
