In the last 24 hours, 16,883 people have recovered from\u00a0COVID-19 and with this the recovery rate has reached 61.53 per cent.<\/p>\n<p>The Health and Family Welfare Ministry said, a total of 22,752 new cases of\u00a0COVID-19 have been reported in the country within 24 hours taking the total number of cases to 7,42,417. In a single day, 482 deaths have been reported taking the nationwide toll to 20,642. Presently, the total number of active corona cases in the country is two lakh 64,944.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Indian Council of Medical Research, ICMR has said that a total of two lakh 62,679 tests of corona virus samples were conducted by the various laboratories in the country within 24 hours. This is the highest number of tests conducted by the laboratories in one day since the outbreak of\u00a0COVID-19 pandemic in India. So far, 1,04,73,711 tests have been conducted.<\/p>\n<p>ICMR is continuously scaling up its testing facilities for\u00a0COVID-19 by giving approval to government and private laboratories.
