{"id":13165,"date":"2020-06-23T20:01:59","date_gmt":"2020-06-23T14:31:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/udaen.info\/?p=13165"},"modified":"2020-06-23T20:01:59","modified_gmt":"2020-06-23T14:31:59","slug":"ayush-ministry-asks-patanjali-to-provide-details-of-its-medicines-coronil-claimed-for-covid-treatment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/udaen.info\/?p=13165","title":{"rendered":"AYUSH Ministry asks Patanjali to provide details of its medicines &#8216;Coronil&#8217; claimed for COVID treatment"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"col-md-12\">\n<div class=\"row\">\n<div class=\"listing-bx text-justify\">\n<table id=\"ctl00_ContentPlaceHolder1_FormView1\" cellspacing=\"0\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td colspan=\"2\">\n<h2>AYUSH Ministry asks Patanjali to provide details of its medicines &#8216;Coronil&#8217; claimed for COVID treatment<\/h2>\n<div class=\"news-details-img\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"img-responsive img-right\" src=\"http:\/\/newsonair.com\/writereaddata\/News_Pictures\/NAT\/2020\/Jun\/NPIC-202062314123.jpg\" \/>@PypAyurved<\/div>\n<p>The Ministry of AYUSH has asked the\u00a0 Patanjali Ayurved Ltd\u00a0 to provide at the earliest, details like the name and composition of the medicines being claimed for COVID treatment.<\/p>\n<p>Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev\u2019s Patanjali Ayurved today launched its medicine for COVID-19 named Coronil at Haridwar in Uttarakhand.<\/p>\n<p>The AYUSH Ministry has asked it to provide details of hospitals\u00a0 where the research study was conducted for COVID-19,\u00a0 protocol, sample size, Institutional Ethics Committee clearance, CTRI registration\u00a0 and results data of the study.<\/p>\n<p>It has directed the Company to\u00a0 stop advertising and publicizing such claims till the issue is duly examined.<\/p>\n<p>Ministry has also requested the concerned State Licensing Authority of Uttarakhand Government to provide copies of license and product approval details of the Ayurvedic medicines being claimed for the treatment of COVID -19.<\/p>\n<p>The Ministry in a statement said that it has taken cognizance of the news being recently flashed in the media about Ayurvedic medicines developed for treatment of COVID-19 by Patanjali Ayurved Ltd.<\/p>\n<p>It said, facts of the claim and details of the stated scientific study are not known to the Ministry.<\/p>\n<p>It said that the concerned Ayurvedic drug manufacturing company has been informed that such advertisements of drugs including Ayurvedic medicines are regulated under the provisions of Drugs and Magic Remedies (Objectionable Advertisements) Act, 1954 and\u00a0 and the directives issued by the Central Government in the wake of COVID outbreak.
