{"id":13002,"date":"2020-06-18T22:18:31","date_gmt":"2020-06-18T16:48:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/udaen.info\/?p=13002"},"modified":"2020-06-18T22:18:31","modified_gmt":"2020-06-18T16:48:31","slug":"new-delhi-asserts-indias-work-in-unsc-will-be-guided-by-pm-modis-call-for-reformed-multilateralism-dynamic-5s-vision","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/udaen.info\/?p=13002","title":{"rendered":"New Delhi asserts India&#8217;s work in UNSC will be guided by PM Modi\u2019s call for reformed multilateralism &#038; dynamic 5S vision"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>New Delhi asserts India&#8217;s work in UNSC will be guided by PM Modi\u2019s call for reformed multilateralism &amp; dynamic 5S vision<\/h2>\n<div class=\"news-details-img\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"img-responsive img-right\" src=\"http:\/\/newsonair.com\/writereaddata\/News_Pictures\/NAT\/2020\/Jun\/NPIC-2020618195954.jpg\" \/>@MEAIndia<\/div>\n<p>External Affairs Ministry today said India&#8217;s election as non permanent member of UNSC for term 2021-22 demonstrates the goodwill the country enjoys at the United Nations and the confidence international community has reposed in India&#8217;s capability to contribute to the work of the council.<\/p>\n<p>Briefing media in New Delhi, Secretary (West) Vikas Swarup said India&#8217;s presence on the Security Council and performance there over the next two years will underscore the value that a country like India brings to the table and reaffirm credentials to be a permanent member of UNSC. He said India&#8217;s work in the UNSC will be guided by Prime Minister Narendra Modi\u2019s call for a reformed multilateralism and the dynamic\u00a0 5S vision &#8211; Sammaan, Samvaad, Sahyog, Shanti and Samriddhi. He added that through this approach, India seeks to move towards a new orientation for a reformed multilateral system.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Swarup said India was elected unopposed being the sole candidate for the Asia Pacific seat. He said this was made possible because Afghanistan had withdrawn in India&#8217;s favour for which India is thankful towards the Afghanistan government. India&#8217;s two year term will begin on the 1st of January 2021. This will be the eighth time that India will be serving on the security council bringing with it rich experience and legacy. The Secretary (West) said India looks forward to being a voice for all those who are not represented in the Council.<\/p>\n<p>As a founding member of United Nations, India is fully committed to the principles and purposes of the UN Charter. As the world&#8217;s largest democracy, a major contributor to UN peacekeeping operations, India will bring its own unique strengths and perspective to the Security Council.
