IST)<\/u><\/strong>by the National Weather Forecasting Centre\/Cyclone Warning Divisionof the India Meteorological Department:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Southwest Monsoon has advanced into some parts of south Bay of Bengal, NicobarIslands &amp; Andaman Sea.<\/li>\n<li>The Northern Limit of Monsoon (NLM) passes through Lat.5\u00b0N\/Long.85\u00b0E,Lat.8\u00b0N\/Long.90\u00b0E, Car Nicobar, Lat.11\u00b0N\/Long.95\u00b0E (Fig.1).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<pre><strong><u>Further advance during next 3-4 days<\/u><\/strong><\/pre>\n<ul>\n<li>Conditions are favorable for further advance of Southwest Monsoon into some more parts ofSouth Bay of Bengal, remaining parts of Andaman Sea &amp; Andaman Islands and some parts ofeastcentral Bay of Bengal during next 48 hours.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>Major features associated with advance of southwest monsoon<\/u><\/strong>&gt;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Rainfall occurred at most places over Nicobar Islands during last 24 hours.<\/li>\n<li>Southwesterly wind has strengthened in the lower levels (upto 25 knots) and deepened(upto 6 km) over the southern Latitudes covering south Andaman Sea, Nicobar Islandsand southern parts of south Bay of Bengal.<\/li>\n<li>There is persistent cloudiness from 15th May onwards over south Andaman Sea,<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>adjoining south Bay of Bengal and Nicobar Islands. The Satellite (INSAT-3D) derived Outgoing Long wave Radiation over the region is less than 200 W\/m2 .<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Forecast &amp; warnings for Andaman &amp; Nicobar Islands during next 5 days<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Light to moderate rainfall at most places very likely over Andaman &amp; Nicobar Islandsduring next 4-5 days.
