The cumulative growth for the period\u00a0<strong>April- February,<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>2019-20<\/strong>\u00a0over the corresponding period of previous year has been (<strong>+<\/strong>) 1.9 percent. Mining &amp; Mineral Statistics Division of Indian Bureau of Mines functions as the nodal agency for statistics on mineral sector and releases this information.<\/p>\n<p>Production level of important minerals in\u00a0<strong>February,<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>2020\u00a0<\/strong>were: Coal 780 lakh tonnes, Lignite 47 lakh tonnes, Natural gas (utilized) 2257 million cu. m., Petroleum (crude) 24 lakh tonnes, Bauxite 2190 thousand tonnes, Chromite 395 thousand tonnes, Copper conc. 5 thousand tonnes, Gold 162 kg, Iron ore 239 lakh tonnes, Lead conc. 32 thousand tonnes, Manganese ore 276 thousand tonnes, Zinc conc. 142 thousand tonnes, Apatite &amp; Phosphorite 136 thousand tonnes, Limestone 327 lakh tonnes, Magnesite 11 thousand \u00a0tonnes \u00a0and Diamond \u00a02720 carat.<\/p>\n<p>The production of important minerals showing positive growth during\u00a0<strong>February,<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>2020<\/strong>\u00a0over\u00a0<strong>February,<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>2019<\/strong>\u00a0include: \u2018Zinc conc.\u2019 (33.2%), \u2018Iron ore\u2019 (31.3%), \u2018Chromite\u2019 (18.2%), \u2018Lead conc.\u2019 (14.2%), \u2018Coal\u2019 (11.7%), \u2018Limestone\u2019 (4.5%), \u2018Manganese ore\u2019 (3.3%), \u2018Lignite\u2019 (2.6%) and \u2018Bauxite\u2019 (1.3%).
