Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat has sought a study report from the Exodus Commission on reverse migration due to corona infection in the state. He said that a strategy should be chalked out about how the people of Uttarakhand who have returned to the villages from outside states can be stopped in the state. The CM discussed the situation arising out of the lockdown in the country with the Council of Ministers at his residence on Tuesday.

The Chief Minister said that we have to think seriously about how to turn this disaster into an opportunity. The action plan will be finalized in the state as per the instructions issued by the central government for the status of lockdown. There is also the challenge of how to strengthen the economy in the changing circumstances. He said that a large number of people have returned to their homes during this period.

For these people leading to reverse migration, the migration commission should prepare and present a study report. The Commission should talk to them and also get suggestions from them. People returning here can be stopped by providing better resources and facilities here. The Chief Minister also clarified that the government will take collective decisions during the prevention and lockdown of Corona infection. In this regard, no department will be able to issue any order from its level.

A provision of 10 lakh Samman Nidhi has been arranged from the Chief Minister’s Assistance Fund for all those deployed in the prevention of corona infection. For this, a committee has been formed which will look into the matters related to it and in case of any untoward, it will be recommended to provide this amount to their dependents.

Cabinet Ministers Madan Kaushik, Satpal Maharaj, Harak Singh Rawat, Subodh Uniyal, Minister of State Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat and Rekha Arya were present during this period. Cabinet Minister Yashpal joined Haldwani through video conferencing.
