Lockdown: Advance pension to old and differently-abled pensioners within three days, additional assistance of Rs 500 to 25 thousand people
\nThere is good news for aged and disabled pensioners facing economic problems due to the lockdown. The Social Welfare Department is going to pay advance payment of the first quarter installment of this new financial year.
\nFrom next two or three days, pension will start coming in the bank account of the beneficiaries. 74 thousand old and disabled pensioners will be benefited in this district. District Social Welfare Officer Hemlata Pandey informed about this.
\nAdditional assistance of Rs 500 to 25 thousand pensioners
\nHe said that the Central Government had also announced an additional amount of Rs. 1000 as financial assistance to the elderly, differently abled pensioners involved in the National Social Assistance Program. Under this, 500 rupees are being sent as first installment in the quarter-installment of April-June only.<\/p>\n
Whereas, the remaining 500 rupees will be sent later in the second installment. This will benefit about 25 thousand old-disabled pensioners of the district.
