GRP post opened in Kotdwar railway station

The Government Railway Police (GRP) post has been opened at the entrance railway station of Garhwal. On Friday, the GRP outpost in two rooms of the old waiting room has duly started functioning. Amar Ujala had prominently published the above news on Thursday with the title ‘Jawan without chowki’, taking cognizance of which the railway administration allotted two rooms for GRP post on Kotdwar railway.

On August 17, four constables, including outpost in-charge, SCP, were deployed in the reporting post of GRP at Kotdwar railway station on behalf of Government Railway Police, but due to no order issued by Moradabad division of Northern Railway, the outpost Buildings could not be found for Without a post, GRP personnel were doing duty in the railway premises under the open sky for the last two days. After the news was published in Amar Ujala, cognizance of this was taken and on Friday, oral orders were received from Moradabad division to allot two rooms for the post. As soon as the instructions were received, Station Superintendent Manoj Rawat handed over two rooms of the waiting room to the GRP personnel for the post. SO Subhash Chandra of GRP’s Laksar police station said that the GRP outpost duly started functioning on Friday after the space was available for the post. This outpost will be attached to the police station GRP Laksar. GRP outpost in-charge Sub-Inspector Balvir Singh Rana said that maintaining law and order in the railway premises would be his first priority.
