The District Pauri Unit of the National Old Pension Restoration Movement took out a rally in Kotdwar to demand restoration of old pension. About 250 employees of various departments participated in the rally and demonstrated in Tehsil in support of their one-point demand. After this the employees sent a memorandum to the Chief Minister through the Naib Tehsildar.

On Thursday, under the leadership of Chief Convener Dr. Mahavir Singh Bisht, employees of various departments gathered at GIC Kotdwar and took out a rally with posters with slogans in their hands, shouting slogans till the Tehsil premises via Lalbatti Chowk, Najibabad Road, Jhanda Chowk, Badrinath Marg. After this demonstration in Tehsil. Earlier in the meeting, the chief convener of the movement, Dr. Mahavir Bisht said that the pension of the employees who are retiring under the new pension scheme is getting close to three to four thousand. The new pension scheme is not in any way in the interest of the employees. Employees will have to face financial trouble after retirement in such a low pension. Said that at present the Rajasthan government has announced to restore the old pension scheme for the employees.

Secretary Anoop Jadli said that MLAs and MPs are getting pension on one day’s tenure, but the employees are being deprived of the old pension scheme even after giving their services for thirty to thirty-five years. He demanded from the Chief Minister to issue a mandate for the restoration of the old pension scheme of the personnel appointed after 2004. On this occasion, the patron of the organization Manmohan Chauhan, District Vice President Bhaskar Bhardwaj, Vardan Budakoti, Sarita Rautela, Raji Negi, KK Raj, Kailash Thapliyal, Ajay Bisht, Anil Kotnala and Kuldeep Rawat were present.
