District Magistrate Dr. Vijay Kumar Jogdande has appealed to the general public in public interest that according to the National Food Security Act-2013, verification of ration cards is to be done from time to time as per eligibility. He said that as per the guidelines of the government, action is being taken to select the beneficiaries and cancel the ration cards of ineligible families. Eligibility of card holders on the basis of income Under the National Food Security Act (NFSA), a family whose monthly income is less than Rs. 15000.00. Under the Antyodaya Anna Yojana, a family whose operation is headed by a widow woman, a person suffering from an incurable disease, a person suffering from a disability or a destitute who is above 60 years of age, who does not have a means of income. Whereas under the State Food Scheme, the family whose annual income is less than Rs 500000.00.
District Magistrate Dr. Jogdande said that according to the eligibility of the card holders, whoever are ineligible card holders, they should get their ration card canceled and the eligible families whose ration card is not made, they should have the necessary records at their nearest Supply Inspector/Gram Panchayat Development Officer Office or District Supply Office. Submit it in Pauri. After verification, if the card of ineligible card holders is found, legal action will be taken against the concerned as per rules.
