In view of the danger of disaster in monsoon, SDM Pramod Kumar took a meeting of officers of various departments. He directed all the departments to be vigilant about the damage and calamity caused by the overflowing rivers and mudslides in the Kotdwar area.

In a meeting held in the Tehsil auditorium on Wednesday, SDM Pramod Kumar sought information from the Irrigation Department about Paniyali and Givainsource Gadera flowing in the middle of the city. He marked the danger zone of Gadera and instructed to pay special attention to the flood of rain water there. Expressing displeasure over the lack of water level gauge with the irrigation department, he said that Khoh river, Sukhro river, Malan river, Paniyali Gadera and Givain sources in Kotdwar are in spate during the rainy season. Unless there is an instrument to measure the water level, how will we alert people of danger? He directed the department to purchase water level gauge equipment. He directed to deploy JCBs to keep the roads open in the rainy season. Along with this, the supply department was instructed to send the ration till the month of September in the hilly areas in advance, and the SDRF team was instructed to be vigilant with their disaster management equipment. Officers of all departments including Tehsildar Vikas Awasthi, RK Kamal Kishore Sharma were present in the meeting.
