In view of the demands of farmers, industries and commercial establishments of the state and the problems of lock down, many important decisions have been taken on the instructions of Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat.
Delay in late payment surcharge in private tube well category, 20 thousand farmers benefit
Delayed payment surcharge is being given to consumers of private tube well category paying bills till 30 June. This will benefit 20 thousand farmers. The financial burden of Rs. 3 crore 64 lakh will be borne by the state government.
2.70 lakh industrial and commercial consumers benefit
The recovery of fixed / demand charge in respect of electricity consumption from March to May from industrial and commercial category consumers is being postponed. Late payment surcharge will be exempt from this. This will benefit 2 lakh 70 thousand consumers. The financial burden of about Rs 8 crore on this will be borne by the state government.
One percent discount on 25 million electricity consumers online payment
All categories of electricity consumers who pay bills online by the due date will be given a rebate of 1 percent on the current bill amount. In this, a maximum of one lakh will be given to HT consumers and maximum discount of Rs 10 thousand to LT consumers. The expenditure of about two crore rupees per month on this will be borne by UPCL. This will benefit 25 lakh consumers.
Ban on cutting electricity connection till June 30 for not paying
In the larger interest of power consumers, the Chief Minister has also instructed not to cut any power connection of any category of consumers in the state till June 30 in case of non-payment of electricity dues.
