The media in-charge of Devasthanam Board, Dr. Harish Gaur told that the decision of the government has been taken for the Chardham Yatra which starts in May. A meeting was held on Thursday under the chairmanship of Tourism Minister Satpal Maharaj in the auditorium of the Uttarakhand Tourism Development Council.
Devsthanam Board CEO Ravinath Raman, Additional Secretary Tourism Jugal Kishore Pant, Additional Chief Executive Officer of the board BD Singh, Additional Director Nivek Chauhan besides DM and SP of Chamoli, Rudraprayag and Uttarkashi districts were also present.
The Chardham Yatra will begin from this day
The doors of Kedarnath Dham will be opened on May 17 at Aries Lagna at five in the morning. The doors of Lord Badri Vishal will be opened for devotees on May 18 at 4:15 am. Gadu Ghara Yatra is scheduled on 29 April. The valleys of Sri Gangotri Dham and Yamanotri Dham will be opened on May 14.
Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat gave administrative and financial approval of Rs 2 crore for the Chardham Yatra. For the Chardham Yatra arrangement, administrative and financial sanction was given to the Commissioner, Garhwal Mandal for two crore rupees.
Under the Chardham Yatra arrangement, Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat had given administrative and financial approval of one crore four lakhs for the construction of 16 toilets and 94 nos. Temporary toilets, construction of urinals, repair work and cleaning system at Rudraprayag on Rudraprayag.

In the past years, during the Chardham Yatra, the work of decorating the Hotel Dhabas was done, but this time the travel business is disappointed due to the cancellation of advance booking for the Yatra. Also, the people associated with it are apprehensive about the future due to loss of livelihood on the journey.
Recalling the past years, these days, along with the Dham, there was a lot of excitement at the travel stops. Traveling businessmen were busy fixing the arrangements by getting colored at their hotel dhabas to receive the pilgrims. Most of the hotels in the travel halt were flooded.
Now the situation is that Yamunaotri temple doors are to open on 14 May, but there is silence on all the pilgrimage sites like Dham and Naugaon, Barkot, Kharadi, Sayanchatti, Hanumanchatti, Jankichatti etc. Advance bookings of hotels up to March are being canceled one by one.
Worker too desperate
In such a situation, the enthusiasm of traveling businessmen has also cooled down. Workers associated with the hotel dhabas are not disappointed with the task of decorating it. The livelihood of thousands of people in the area is dependent on the journey itself. In such a situation, due to lack of travel, these people have started worrying about the future.
Hotel businessmen Anil Rawat, Kulvir Rana, Pyarelal Uniyal, Jaspal Parmar etc. say that this time hotels had received advance bookings till June. Most of it was from the states of Maharashtra, Gujarat and South India. Bookings are being canceled due to rising cases of Corona.
Suresh Badharani, who works as a dyeing paint, says that till two years ago these days there was no free time from work, but this time no phone of any hotel dhaba owner has been received. The laborers who feed the family by driving Dundi-Kandi and horse-mule on the Yamunotri pedestrian path are also worrying for livelihood.
