Due to heavy rains in the district, Samkhal under Tehsil Lansdowne, District Magistrate Dr. Vijay Kumar Jogdande, taking immediate action on the information received, on the information of 5 people being buried due to debris coming at around 10:30 am, relief and rescue at the said site. In Samkhal area under Tehsil Lansdowne, the workers present there were staying in the tents for construction work, due to heavy rain, 5 people were buried in the debris due to the debris coming up from the field, which were immediately rescued, out of which Two minor injured were referred to Kotdwar Base HospitalGaya, officers, personnel and villagers are present on the spot including Deputy Revenue Inspector,The District Magistrate also instructed the concerned officer to conduct a post-mortem by doing Panchnama of the dead.

District Magistrate Dr. Vijay Kumar Jogdande is taking moment-to-moment information from all the SDM and Public Works Department and other officials from the Disaster Control Room, Pauri, about the damage caused by the continuous heavy rains in the district. Along with this, the employees posted in the disaster control room are also engaged in gathering information about the developments from the officials concerned.
District Magistrate Dr. Jogdande said that according to the information received from this morning till 01:00 due to continuous rain.
The Lansdowne region has received 40 to 45 mm of rainfall and the district has received 29 mm of rainfallHe said that according to the information received, 05 laborers working in the construction work near Samkhal under Lansdowne were living with tents, due to heavy rains, the laborers were buried due to landslide, out of which 03 women laborers died and 02 people got minor injuries. . The injured laborers have been immediately sent to the hospital for treatment.
The District Magistrate said that due to heavy rains, 05 motorways were blocked in the district till 01:00, mainly the National Highway Srinagar has been blocked in Chamdhar, the work of opening it through JCB is in progress. Apart from this, the concerned officers have been directed to open the Saraikhet motorway under Satpuli. Along with this, the blocked routes of Fatehpur-Lansdowne and Ghatughat-Chelusain have been opened.
